Wedding Receptions

We are delighted to offer you the Manor as a venue for your wedding reception.

We have large grounds and can arrange marquee hire, catering, music, flowers, tables and chairs etc.. and a large eighteenth century panelled ballroom is made available.It is a far nicer experience than being in an hotel because the building is exclusively yours and can be booked for the weekend or week, allowing you time to prepare beforehand and unwind during and after with family and friends and to have a really memorable wedding. No corkage; no formality; a fine venue for a relaxed country wedding.

The area is famous for its organic food and has been promoted by various television programmes including Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s “River Cottage” series. Dorset food from this area has a high profile in organic food stores in many cities and our local caterers are very much part of the local food renaissance.

It is sometimes possible to be married in the village church or to have a Marriage Blessing ( an affirmation of marriage vows).

We also have in our ownership The Electric Palace cinema/theatre in Bridport as a venue and this can also be booked if you require a large wedding reception with films, restaurant, dance floor etc. ( See www.electricpalace.org.uk)
