Bedrooms some with Four Poster Beds

The bedrooms consist of six double rooms and five twins. There are nine bathrooms/washrooms of which five are en-suite.

The accommodation is spread over three floors, joined with short flights of stairs. There is a bedroom and bathroom off the kitchen which provides level access, although there are some steps into the Manor. On the next floor, the sixty feet long combined dining room and sitting room leads off to the bedrooms and bathrooms. Under the eaves on the attic floor is a large ‘family’ bedroom with one double bed and two single beds, leading to a double room with an en-suite bathroom.

The large kitchen has a pantry with fridges and freezers, a four oven Aga, a gas hob and microwave. There is a dishwasher, a washing machine, a tumble drier and a central table and benches for communal cooking.

There is a magnificent 18th century panelled ballroom which contains a table tennis table – perfect for family tournaments! or even host your own “strictly” event.

The Grounds

Outside there are garden chairs dotted around for lounging on long summer afternoons, a barbecue and garden furniture for al fresco eating plus a croquet set to complete the scene. Parents of young children should be aware that there is a small fishpond and a rockery in the garden which they should be careful of.

Symondsbury Manors’ charm is partly due to it’s location in  the middle of a quintessential English village. We therefore do not allow amplified music in the grounds and ask that doors and windows are closed after 11.30pm to prevent noise traveling.

Eating Out and Catering

In recent years Dorset has emerged as one of the best regions in the country for local, quality food and drink. There are outstanding independent food shops, producers, excellent pubs and restaurants, all virtually on the doorstep.
